As many of you know that stick Concealer with Broad Spectrum 25is famous award winning concealer in the market. It provides a medium to full coverage without a heavy finish. While shopping for Nordstrom Anniversary sale, I came across this concealer at the Cle De Peau counter. I always use the NARS radiant creamy concealer which requires no introduction to the beauty community.

Shade Range:

Ivory : Very light to light skin tone
Beige: Light skin tone with pink undertone
Almond: Medium skin tone with golden/honey undertone
Ocher: Medium skin tone with olive undertones
Mocha: Medium to tan skin with yellow undertone MAC NC35 to NC42
Dark: Deep skin tone with warm undertone MAC NC43 to NC50

I have purchased mine in the shade Mocha. I am NC40 to NC42 in MAC foundations. It matches me perfectly. All shades have a small peachiness to it which helps to correct the dark circles under the eyes. It is designed to address the under eye darkness and fine lines but it can be applied anywhere on the face that needs to even out and brighten. Color-correcting pearl supplements the red and yellow tones lacking in the eye area — without an unnatural orange or yellow cast.

Coverage:

Light to Medium coverage with long lasting luminous finish. Best suited for Dry skin. Combination and oily skin can powder down.

Lightweight and liquid formula hydrates skin and resists setting into fine lines.

Diminishes the visiblity of fine lines. Two varieties of pearl add color and light, counterbalancing dark circles and dullness in one stroke. Illuminating pearl reflects light for a brightening effect.

Darkness is neutralized, bringing a bright, flawless look to the entire face.

Can be used as highlighter to illuminate the high points of the face.

Price:

It retails for $65 for 0.07oz. I know it has a crazy hefty price for a concealer but I think its worth every penny. I have a very dry sensitive skin with dark circles (lack of sleep) and it blends seamlessly with out feeling heavy or cakey like the most concealers do. And it pretty much as a corrector too which is a plus for me.

Before Cle de Peau Radiant concealer/corrector, I have always used NARS radiant creamy concealer in the mix of shades Biscuit or Caramel with mix of Ginger retails $30 for 0.22oz to get my perfect shade. As I have pretty dark circles around the eyes and some discoloration around the mouth area I use Bobbi brown correctorin Dark Bisque retails $28 for 0.05oz (perfect for purple/blue discoloration).

Now i can conceal my dark circles and any pigmentation with this single product. It works great as a touch up too after long work hours without being dry or cakey.

I suggest to give a try at your nearest store before purchasing the product considering the crazy price tag.

Finding the right foundation shade is always a struggle, especially for brown skin girls! Even after fifteen years, I’m still struggling and it usually takes me hours at Sephora. There have been plenty of times where I came home with a foundation shade that was way too light or the colour looked weird on my skin tone. I’m a Mac NC42 going to an NC44 during summer. I’ve tried all the foundations in the list myself. Here are all my Mac NC42 foundation dupes! From drugstore to high-end.

Before we’re moving on to the list, a quick disclaimer. Finding the perfect foundation match will be different for everybody. Nobody’s skin tone is exactly the same. When trying out a new foundation, I advise testing the colour in store to be sure. Especially when it comes to expensive high-end foundations.

Go-to foundation

Lately, my go-to foundation is the Milani Conceal & Perfect foundation in shade 7 or 08A. This foundation is super affordable, has a great staying power, a nice consistency and it looks good on my combination skin. I mix this foundation with a little bit of Revlon Photoready Skinlights in Bronze Light during summer to get a better match. A little goes a long way when using this foundation. This combination is perfect for everyday use and it’s so affordable. Milani Cosmetics is definitely one of my favourite drugstore brands.

High-end foundations

For special occasions, I’m using my Make Up For Ever HD Foundation in Y415. During winter I mix it with a little strobing cream in Peachlite from Mac or the L.A. Girl Pro Coverage Foundation (check out my review here) in Soft Honey when I’m not that tan. For summer this shade is a great match. I tested it during a hot summer day and I love how it looks on my skin. Even after a few hours and after sweating it still looks beautiful.

Matte foundations

Mac Nc45 Equivalent

During summer I sometimes reach more for my matte foundations like the Maybelline Fit Me (great affordable drugstore foundation!) or the Fenty Pro Filt’r foundation. In summer my combination skin gets a little more oily. Therefore I prefer to wear a more matte foundation to prevent my foundation from sweating off my skin immediately. I find the Fenty Pro Filt’r foundation too be a little difficult when it comes to the perfect shade and the foundation is a little too dry for my skin. So I end up mixing it with a tiny bit of strobing cream. The shades do change colour after applying, but the coverage is good.

Dewy foundations

For winter my skin definitely needs a foundation that is more moisturising. I always use a rich moisturiser underneath it, like the Elizabeth Arden Visible Cream. The foundations that I love for winter are the Make Up Forever HD foundation, the L’oreal True Match (less staying power but affordable) or the Mac Cosmetics Fix Fluid.
